Participants

The M² project aims to bring together a large community of different participants to achieve its goals.

Participant TypeWho They AreHow M² Helps Them

Entities building a metaverse (a content platform)

  • Faster time to market through the M² Platform

  • Fully self-sovereign experiences due to all of M² being whitelabel/open source technology

  • Business continuity through multiple service providers and federated services.

  • Increased asset and experience value from user, content creator, and digital asset movement by agreeing to basic interoperability

Content Creators

Entities creating content in metaverses (experiences or objects)

  • MML stack and services for content portability enabling higher value objects and business resilience.

  • Access to a broad user base due to movement of people.

  • Business continuity through multiple service providers and federated services.

Service Providers

Entities providing services to metaverse owners and content creators (e.g. storage for objects, compute to run experiences)

  • New revenue streams by providing services to metaverses.

  • Share growth in the M² Network.

Users

People who visit metaverses and consume content

  • Novel mass scale crowd based experiences

  • Ownership of purchased items.

  • Cross-metaverse experiences.

  • Trusted environment across metaverses due to high standards and technologies provided by the network.

Community ownership is essential, as the network must live on beyond any single project and should not be controlled by one participant. It must also share value with those who help it advance, where appropriate.
